Ash Wednesday service
Wednesday, February 14, 6:30 p.m.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season - the season in the church year where we focus on repentance and turning our hearts and lives back toward God in preparation for the dramatic story of Jesus' Passion in Holy Week and the life-changing, salvific revelation of the empty tomb on Easter morning.

On Ash Wednesday, we approach God particularly aware of our need to humbly seek forgiveness. We are marked by the ashes of the palms from last year's Palm Sunday - desiccated hosannas that have been repurposed through fire and blessing to bring us back to the cross.

This will be a quieter, more contemplative service focused on the elements that bring about the ashes with which we are marked: palms, fire, ash, oil, and cross.
Join us for this service either virtually or in person.
Maundy Thursday
Worship Around a Meal
Thursday, March 28, 5:30 p.m.
Maundy Thursday is the day we honor and remember the Last Supper that Jesus shared with the disciples before his arrest, trial, and crucifixion.
Because Jesus and his disciples gathered around a simple meal, we gather around a simple meal as well - three types of soup, three types of bread, and a simple dessert. It is a truly authentic, heartwarming combination of the sacred and the simple - worship elements woven in with the fellowship that we experience around the tables including sharing communion with those at the table around us.

This is a service that is only in person. There is no virtual option.
Good Friday Tenebrae Service
Friday, March 29, 7:00 p.m.
A tenebrae service is a service of darkness and shadow. It is a service in which we read our way through Matthew's recollection of Jesus' last days - from his Last Supper with his disciples to his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, from his arrest and torture to his crucifixion.

It is a service of deep contemplation. It is a service that is powerful and emotional. Throughout the service, as we read the Scripture and intersperse those readings with hymns, we will progressively extinguish one candle after another and one light in the sanctuary after another until we finish the evening in total darkness.

Join us for this service either virtually or in person.
